It was awful. I’ve taken other children there in the past and don’t have any issues. But when I took my barely turned 1 year old for her initial exam, I told them I didn’t want X-Rays done because she just had xrays done of her leg/hip for something else and I prefer to limit her exposure especially because she is so young. The dental hygienist and dental techs all kept telling me that they had to it was there policy I asked to speak to the dentist as I wanted a visual exam only. They brought in a “manager” again I said I wanted to speak to the dentist. The dentist came in a said it was their policy. I explained my concerns, and she just kept saying they couldn’t it was their policy. She said she would go talk to the manager. At that point I left, at no time should a dentist defer medical opinion to a “manager” or “office policy”. At that point it becomes about billing and not the care of my child.

On my way out the door they wanted me to sign something saying I was refusing xrays. Uh why even have the form of you won’t treat my child without them? No.

I confirmed with a friend that has also taken her children there she has declined xrays and her daughter was still seen.

Our usual family dentist only begins xrays when they are over 3 to closer to 4 unless there is a need to do them sooner. Prior to that they only use a wand to take full sets of pictures of their mouth and teeth. I explained that I would be okay with pictures but not xrays unless they could demonstrate they were medically necessary.
